~ wHeN eVeNiNg sHadoWs faLL... ~

When evening shadows fall
And another day is through,
This is the special time
I love to share with you...

You take me in your arms
As the stars begin to shine;
Your kisses are long and deep
Forever I know you'll be mine...

How I love the evenings
The moonlight, the stars and you;
Sharing our hopes and dreams,
Together we'll make them come true...

Brief description of Kannur is added bottom of the page...

Kannur, also known as Cannanore, is a city in Kannur district in the Indian state of Kerala. This is the administrative headquarters of the District of Kannur. During British rule in India, Kannur was known by its Portuguese name Cannanore, which is still in fairly common usage. This is the largest city of North Malabar region. Kannur Municipality was established in 1867 and is one of the oldest municipalities in Kerala.

Kannur is the fourth largest urban agglomeration in Kerala after Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode, and has an estimated population of 5,74,876 in 2010. Kannur is known as the Land of Looms and Lores, because of the loom industries functioning in the district and ritualistic folk arts held in temples. Kannur is famous for its pristine beaches; Theyyam, its native performing art; and its handloom industry.

Kannur is of great strategic military importance. It houses one of the 62 military cantonments in the country, the Kannur Cantonment, and is the current headquarters of the Defence Security Corps.

According to the data compiled by the research firm Indicus Analytics, Kannur is one of the ten best cities in India to live. The parameters set by this firm are in the field of health, education, environment, safety, public facilities and entertainment.

Payyanur is one of the ancient civilized places in Kerala. This northern town of Kerala claims a rich and glorious heritage. The archeological remaining excavated from Payyanur and nearby places proves the existence of a civilized city in this area centuries ago. The earliest mention of this town is in the Brahmanda Purana, when Muni Garga talks about the town to the Pandavas during their exile.

The famous travelers, who visited here, have described about this area in high words. The famous traveler Ibn Bathutha visited Ezhimala in AD 1342 and wrote about the big seaport and the Chinese ships anchored here. 1n AD 1273 Abul Fida and in AD 1293 the world famous traveler Marco Polo, and in 15th century the Italian traveler Nicholo Kondi also visited this place and had given a very good impression about Ezhimala port which was called by the name “Heli”. The Portuguese Scholar and traveler Barbosa who made lot of researches and studies on Kerala and its People had described a lot about this place.

Centuries back Payyanur was a part of the Ezhimala Rajya. King Nandan who ruled this Ezhimala Rajya was very famous and mighty. The books written during Sang Time describe about this country and this king with much importance. Later Ezhimala became under the regime of the Chera Dynasty and thereafter the Mooshaka (Yadava) Dynasty. Ramanthali was the headquarters of the Mooshaka Dynasty.

~ TALK TO TREES ~

Talk to the trees, for they are wise.
Be still and listen, open your eyes.
See the beauty that lies within,
That flies silently, with the wind.

Talk to the trees, for they will hear.
They've been listening for many a year.
They bring you vision; pure insight,
And bring you dreams for the night.

Talk to the trees, for you will see,
What its like to be free.
No guilt, no lies, no compromise,
For simplicity, is truly wise!

~ ROAD TO LOVE ~

>>~~< ROAD TO LOVE >~~<<

Love is not always
The easy way.
This is something
They don't tell you
In the movies.
Love sometimes
Is the winding road.
This is something
You do not read about
In fairy tales.

There are moments
When your hearts will
Seem to travel
As two ships passing
In the night.
There are moments
When you might ask ~
"Who is this stranger in my bed?"
Don't look away from love.
Look deeply at love,
Look longingly at love,
And it will ignite again...
